Some say a place in the forest Appears to brave hearts who seek An audience with bright spirits who guard dark gates to the deep They ask travelers questions three: What's your pride, your shame, and your dream? The true are then allowed entrance To a hidden world in between: To ride the ribbon of moonlight To dance in deserts of dreams To eat sweet fruits of the truth To drink deep from life's silver stream All while the Watchers are singing: "Ahhh!" We found the place in the forest, Patient a vigil kept we. Terrors they tested our mettle, Snakes coiled around our bare feet. The giant angels appeared through Rips in our paper-thin air. They made a circle around us They posed our hearts to the dare: To ride the ribbon of moonlight To dance in deserts of dreams To eat sweet fruits of the truth To drink deep from life's silver stream All while the Watchers were singing: "Ahhh!" Our hearts were weighed 'gainst a feather Plucked from a black angel's wing We were allowed to enter A world of impossible things.... We rode the ribbon of moonlight We danced in deserts of dreams We ate sweet fruits of the truth We drank deep from life's silver stream. All while the Watchers are singing: "Ahhh!"

Who by Fire 03:47
Who by fire, who by water, Who in the sunshine, who in the night time, Who by high ordeal, who by common trial, Who in your merry merry month of may, Who by very slow decay, And who shall I say is calling? Who in her lonely slip, who by barbiturate, Who in these realms of love, who by something blunt, And who by avalanche, who by powder, Who for his greed, who for his hunger, And who shall I say is calling? Who by brave assent, who by accident, Who in solitude, who in this mirror, Who by his lady's command, who by his own hand, Who in mortal chains, who in power, And who, who shall I say is calling? Who by fire, who by water, Who in the sunshine, who in the night time, Who by high ordeal, who by common trial, Who in your merry merry month of may, Who by very very slow decay, And who, who shall I say (who there?) is calling? Hello?

(Come in closer, towards our future) As I sat by the door, I wished those footsteps were yours I'm so sad and I'm cold, And I'm longing to hold You again. Don't pretend, It's not right, We're not meant To leave things this way. Please come home Let's make amends You're my only one. You were always my only one.

Duality 03:34
You've been wronged a more sorrowful song Than I could ever possibly sing, But you felt the good in the unsaid words You don't need to speak. (Meet me by the moon's lake In the hour of four And I'll teach you things you never learned You never learned before.) I learned him in the ways of the world In the way of a woman, and of heaven and hell, And I worked to undo the chains That wrapped around that heart of pain. By the dawn we lovers, By the gods we were sworn, By the heavens that hold angels: We will be as one. Your idols made of invisible lore: They bleed more and lie more and cry more and break more than You ever could before. Our prayers wrapped In the cloak of a night, Through dark eerie forests, To the dawn's clean light; And we found the ground beneath our feet Was less real than a world of dreams As the sky is just a color As the earth a clay form As the waters swirl'd around us: We are all as one.

Death Dreams 03:03
Me and you, we're all of us under a spell We know too well. Though some of us choose to not tell and Live in a private hell. Forsake your laws, your anger, your flaws, You're worth more than you know. And when you choose to let go, You will be reborn. So I'll shed the skin too small to pretend It fits me anymore And I'll rise above the confines of love Death dreams can't be ignored.

EXCEPT Who By Fire, written by Leonard Cohen

Christiana Key would first and foremost like to thank her parents, John and Cynthia, and Grammy, who tricked her into studying music and gladly sacrificed over half a million peaceful minutes of their lives listening to a squeaking violin and squawking little opera singer. Dr. Simon Shiao, Kim Chalmers, and Agnes Klauder also deserve her gratitude for their ingenious (and sometimes terrifying) teaching methods; and the Weiner family for their open hearts, open doors, and open minds: Delphic Oracle would have never begun without the intense creative friendship of Catherine Weiner. And of course Alyssa Key, who taught Christiana the value of sticking to your guns, patience and perseverance, and forging your own path to your dreams: thank you.

Many thanks to Karen Soskin, Stephanie Williams, Kathy Key, Micki Pellerano, Molly Harding, the Brides, Loreena McKennitt, Soren Roi, Chris Coady, Faten Kanaan, Sandra Ciriello, Carlos Ledesma, Jay Russo, Jenna Nankin, Sean Ragon, Molly Harding, Nika Danilova, and the incredibly beautiful land of America.

Gratitude is extended to all those not listed who offered their love, support and advice, and also to those who wished her failure: all convictions make dreams more powerful. And to the muses who are too numerous to list: you are highly regarded.

Lastly, and most ardently, Christiana would like to thank her jewelry designer, psychotherapist, number one fan, wingwoman, dancing partner, constant inspiration and best friend, the unicorn mermaid from Atlantis: Allison Press. Without her presence, strength and love, this album would have never been made and Delphic Oracle would have been left as an abstract dream. A great friend who not only pulled Christiana from the many pits of despair, but taught her to pull herself out and laugh about it. She is a beacon of light for the darkest of times and a radiant source of love and compassion. May her path be clear and blessed, her dreams a reality, and all her endeavors fruitful.

This debut album is dedicated to Veronica Boehm, who taught Christiana that life is precious and one is responsible to live and pursue personal dreams as though life itself depends upon it. Life is not to be wasted.
